Old World Charm For Todays Modern Age Family
The inset raised panel doors of this kitchen creates a custom look. The specialty tinted varnish finish along with various distressing of the cabinetry provides the details needed to present an old world feel - exactly what the customer wanted.
A tumbled marble backsplash and the honed granite countertop completes the look.
Initially, this kitchen had a major flaw. The sink was under the window. You can imagine how tightly spaced this would have been with the range to the left and the refrigerator to the right.
Keep in mind that kitchen requirements back in the 50s, when the original kitchen was built, were much different than what they are today.
Moving the sink diagonally across the room resolved this problem. Now there is plenty of space. Sometimes a little extra expense pays off big!
