Simple Elegance

White cabinetry never seems to go out of style. Here a minimalistic design has created a simple elegance and timeless beauty.

A few features that simplify this design are the flat door panels, drawer heads and the peninsula back panel. The finish is a tinted varnish without any glazing. Glazing will highlight details: this is not what we want here. Also, note that the backsplash is painted and not yet tiled. Sometimes less is better.

The cherry raised panel doors are always an elegant choice when a traditional look is desired. This kitchen illustrates the classic look of cherry, dark granite countertops and a limestone backsplash.

Remember, when designing a kitchen, make sure your designer considers the adjoining space. The rooms should flow and have some design continuity.

Old World Charm For Todays Modern Age Family

The inset raised panel doors of this kitchen creates a custom look. The specialty tinted varnish finish along with various distressing of the cabinetry provides the details needed to present an old world feel - exactly what the customer wanted.

Exotic Wood Veneers

Looking for something unique? How about exotic wood veneers? This kitchen was custom designed and built using a Fingered Anigre veneer.

Exotic wood veneers have become very popular, but can be expensive. Fortunately, cabinet manufactures now offer man-made engineered veneers that mimic the look of the real ones. Custom designs are only limited by the designer’s imagination. We actually did nine designs for this customer. I’m not advocating doing nine designs, but in this case, persistence paid off!

Contemporary Flair

Customer Desires:

This house is a contemporary style located in Rowaton, CT. The original cabinetry wasyour basic builders grade stock cabinet and did not match the style of the house at all. The homeowner vision was to create a kitchen that complemented the house. Sleek lines and pop describe this kitchen best.

Rearrangement of Space

Customer’s objective:
This client had a kitchen that felt small and crammed, and lacked proper lighting. Their children needed a space to easily unload their book bags and outside wear, along with a space where they could join in and help out with the meals. The homeowners wanted the new design to be both clean and functional.

Shoreline Kitchen

Customer Desires:

This house was located near a marina in Milford, a quaint shoreline town of Connecticut. The homeowner wanted the sights and sounds of the marina to fill the kitchen during boating season. It was also important for the new kitchen design to be clean and project traditional shoreline elegance. It included an open and airy atmosphere.
